Egyptological Blog Portal

28th May 2011. A year or so ago we launched the Egyptological Blog Portal. Now that the main Egyptologocal site is up and running, the portal has a a new permament home at the bottom of the main menu – and a new name.  It is now simply, “Our Favourite Blogs“.

Within the layout we can only sensibly show six blogs so we reviewed our selection.  Egyptology News, Talking Pyramids and News from the Valley of the Kings cover the news between them, so for the other three we wanted blogs which include orginal writing and research.  We are therefore delighted to add Em Hotep by Keith Payne, Tim Reid’s The Egyptians and Stuart Tyler’s expanding Hatshepsut Project.  We are looking at how to condense the layout which might allow us to add further blogs on the main page without it becoming too long.  We would also be interested in adding a page of dig diaries.

In the meantime we are well underway with our plans for the first edition.  The process of reviewing articles is taking slightly longer than we hoped but we should be able to announce the publication date and content for Edition 1 soon.  We are very pleased with the contributions we have received so far, which cover a wide variety of topics and ideas.

In the meantime, we are looking for articles for the second edition.  We would also love some articles for the In Brief section!
