Visitor Statistics for Edition 1

Our contributors – and visitors – might be interested in the visitor statistics over the  nearly 3 weeks up to 20th July since we launched Edition 1 of Egyptological.  During that period we welcomed 4,072 visits (2,660 unique visitors) from 87 countries who have read a total of 15,789 pages on the main Egyptological site.  (That doesn’t include images and PDFs which are not individually tracked.)  That includes 111 visitors from Egypt – nice to see that Egyptological is read in Egypt itself.

We now have over 200 people subscribed to the main newsfeed (163 by email) and 82 followers on Twitter.

Obviously we hope that will grow, but for a newly launched site that is very respectable so thank you to everybody who has helped to promote the site, proof articles, and  of course to our authors and contributors.  Andie has just designed a wonderful poster which we hope to display soon in London  when we get it printed – and if anybody could display one at other gatherings of Egyptology societies then please contact Andrea.

Egyptological Visitor Locations - July 2011

What is interesting is that old articles we posted months ago in some cases are still being read very regularly so already Egyptological is a site which people come back to over time so articles will continue to be read for years.  We now have 226 approved comments.

If you are interested in writing for Egyptological, then please refer to our Particpate page for details of how to get involved.
